The idea of ISOBUS: Communication in a common language, independent from device and manufacturer. This has especially become important when many different manufacturers started development for electronic hard- and software applications to avoid any functionality obstacles. Knowing that machinery on a farm might consist of different manufacturers, ISOBUS ensures standardised communication interfaces. Thanks to reliable and secure operations, the number of machines equipped with ISOBUS is significantly increasing. The benefits of using ISOBUS technology with its wide range of functions are obvious.
Our tractors can be equipped with the ISOBUS which allows the utilisation of a wide number of features. This includes the TECU, which works as a kind of “job computer” in the tractor. In addition, a rear (and optionally front) socket are available to connect an ISOBUS certified implement of any manufacturer. Inside the cab, a terminal socket on the b-pillar allows to connect any ISOBUS compliant terminal. For the operation of an ISOBUS implement, you can equip our machines with the iMonitor3, which is fully ISOBUS compliant. It is available in 2 sizes and provides various features – many of them even without activation.



The concept of DEUTZ-FAHR is the ability to use only one clearly structured terminal for all features- that is maximum working comfort and provides a better overview. As result it is so simple to control, set and adjust implement functions. If supported by the implement, frequently used functions can be assigned to buttons on the armrest. Depending on the configuration of the tractor, up to 19 functions (10 buttons on the armrest, 9 softkeys in the iMonitor) can be assigned. This makes daily work even more comfortable due to highest ergonomic operations.
Regardless of which combinations are used or whether it’s a baler, loader wagon, seeder, spreader or sprayer – the user screens for the implements are displayed on the iMonitor. The structure and philosophy surface of 8” and 12” iMonitors contain many ISOBUS functions that make the application not only more comfortable, but also more precise, more effective and more efficient.
Furthermore, with our solution you will save costs in operating material, fertiliser or crop protection, and, not to be forgotten – time! Automatic section control with up to 200 automatically controlled sections or variable application rate control makes it possible to guarantee that the plant protection product and the nutrients are applied exactly in the right spot at the right time and in the correct amount.
ISOBUS simplifies not only communication between machines, but also in combination with software applications. The ISO-XML data format ensures reliable exchange of data from and to the iMonitor, for example with an FMIS. This simplifies and significantly reduces the effort for documentation obligations.


The standard version of the iMonitor includes a large number of functions. We know that working with multiple complex applications in same time is becoming more and more usual. As result, customers often install a second terminal in the cab hat achieve a better overview on the different features. We provide a very a much better solution for this scenario: XTEND. This excellent function allows you to enlarge the display area with a tablet or smartphone simply connected to the iMonitors Hotspot via WLAN. Once you downloaded the XTEND app on your mobile device, it can be used to either display the guidance application or to control all ISOBUS-UT functions via softkeys of AUX- assigned buttons. The Universal Terminal is displayed on your device while other applications, e.g. guidance can be displayed on the iMonitor. Thanks to the wireless connection, users can operate the tablet even outside the cab, e.g. to do machine calibrations. All of these features make XTEND a very user friendly and cost efficient solution to achieve best overview for your applications!


TIM (Tractor Implement Management) is a new ISOBUS feature which allows a bidirectional communication. This means, that some function are no longer controlled by the driver on the tractor, but vice versa. As result, some functions can even be automated. In other words: The implement controls the tractor. DEUTZ-FAHR is the first tractor manufacturer having received the TIM certification from AEF. This allows any AEF TIM certified implement to control tractor functionalities such as hydraulics, vehicle speed, PTO or the hitch. For a secure and reliable automation of functions, both tractor and implement must be certified. TIM increases efficiency and quality of work. With automated processes, the work is much more comfortable because of less manual operation what reduces driver fatigue in addition. Our tractors have been TIM ready for some time and have already been tested with many implements from different manufacturers. Speak to your sales partner to get it activated your machine!

Here is an overview of all functionalities:

UT: Any attachment can be controlled with the Universal Terminal in the iMonitor. In full screen mode, the UT can be shown across the entire screen size
AUX-N: With Auxiliary Control (new), function buttons on the armrest are used to control the implement. In addition to the MaxCom joystick, the buttons on the cross lever are also available. Depending on the installed options, this provides up to 10 controllable functions. The iMonitor offers additional 9 soft keys for free assignment. Really convenient: steering system functions, such as the engagement of the automatic steering system, can also be assigned to the buttons.
TC-GEO: Additionally offers the option of recording or planning side- spedific data. The iMonitor3 (12"") can process application maps, for example. The variable rate control allows a very precise regulation of output to save recourses and even increase yield. Our combine harvesters can generate yield maps in combination with the Yield Trak system.
TC-BAS: The iMonitor provides the ISOBUS TC-BAS functionality which ensures the documentation in the ISO-XML data format. This contains all total values which are relevant for activity performed. The benefit is compatibility for the exchange of data, e.g. between a farm management system with the iMonitor or any other manufacturers and providers. Tasks can easily be imported to the task controller of the iMonitor and/or the finished documentation can be exported afterwards.
TC-SC: This function automatically switches sections of the ISOBUS implement (e.g. sprayer, spreader, planter) depending on GPS position and overlap. The iMonitor3 can easily work with up to 200 sections! This feature is already available as standard in all iMonitors.
TECU: The tractor ECU is the “job computer” of the tractor. Information such as speed or PTO speed are provided centrally here. In addition, a socket on the rear (and optionally front) of the tractor and a terminal socket in the cab on the b-pillar are included. This allows as well to connect any ISOBUS compliant display from other suppliers to display or operate an ISOBUS implement.
TIM: Communication in two directions. Information can be transferred from the implement to the tractor. An implement can use the Tractor Implement Management System (TIM) to automatically control certain tractor functions. This includes: driving speed, spool valves, hitches, PTO.
